Our gate valves with bolted bonnet are robust standard solutions for many industrial applications. PROVALVE manufactures them in accordance with DIN and API 600. Instead of thin, inserted seat rings, we use wide seats that are welded directly into the body. This more complex process ensures a high level of tightness and a long service life, even under demanding conditions. High-quality packing sets and Cam-profile bonnet gaskets are standard and RTJ gaskets on request.
The gate valves are available in numerous special materials, making them ideal for applications with high requirements.
-
Our high-pressure gate valves with split wedge or parallel-plate designs are specifically engineered for high loads. They are primarily used in conventional power plants, the petrochemical industry, and high-pressure chemical applications.
The body is manufactured from a center section forged in the direction of flow and welded with a single circumferential seam. This design allows for precise seam inspection and ensures uniform expansion of the body even under extreme pressure, frequent switching, and significant temperature fluctuations. A version in cast steel is also available.
The gate valve features a pressure seal bonnet with a high-purity graphite seal and stainless steel caps. A clear position indicator facilitates the installation of gearboxes or electric actuators. Encapsulated needle bearings reliably absorb the spindle forces.
Wide seating surfaces and reinforced wedge armor result in low contact pressures, high tightness, and a long service life. The wedge and spindle are positively locked together, preventing lateral forces and ensuring the packing remains permanently tight.
Upon request, the valves can be equipped with functions such as bypass, drain, or overpressure protection. All versions comply with the requirements of VGB R-107.

Our coverless high-pressure valves are manufactured from forged bodies and feature a reinforced seat. Since no body gasket is required, only the stem needs to be sealed against the outside. This is achieved using pre-compressed ultra-pure graphite rings, which provide a reliable and temperature-resistant seal.
The yoke is connected via a sturdy bayonet lock and can be quickly removed or installed. The conical, stellited sealing surfaces ensure high wear resistance and a tight seal. Actuators can be easily installed or retrofitted later.

The Basics of PROVALVE Bellows Sealed Valves
Active Environmental Protection:
Bellows sealed valves offer the highest level of safety both internally and externally. Stricter regulations such as TA Luft 2021, increased environmental awareness, and employee safety make them the state of the art today.
Operational Safety and Cost-Effectiveness
Their long service life, the safe shutoff of valuable media, the prevention of leaks, and low maintenance requirements speak for themselves. Bellows sealed valves reduce long-term costs and increase plant availability.Chemically tested and proven
Thanks to many years of industrial use, our designs are optimally tailored to the requirements of modern operations. PROVALVE relies on high-quality materials such as multi-layer bellows and cam-profile gaskets, as well as modern manufacturing processes. The patented design ensures maximum process reliability and protects your entire plant. For maximum safety in critical applications
Our bellows sealed valves and gate valves are specifically designed for media that must remain completely contained—such as toxic, corrosive, flammable, volatile, or extremely expensive liquids and gases.
Typical applications
- Vinyl chloride monomer (VCM)
- Liquid and gaseous chlorine
- Ethylene dichloride (EDC)
- Isocyanates such as MDI, TDI, or HDI
- Hydrogen
- Heat transfer fluids such as hot oil or molten sodium
- Other media with similar requirements
The highest level of security
We use only multi-walled, hydroformed bellows made of 1.4571 or Hastelloy C276. The bellows are welded to the cover and stem, and all welded joints are fully tested using a helium leak test. This ensures that the valves remain reliably leak-tight up to 325 bar, even under extreme conditions.
1. PROVALVE Bellows Sealed Globe Valves – The Right Solution for Every Operating Condition
PROVALVE offers the ideal valve for a wide range of pressures, temperatures, and media. The focus is on two main types:
PRO-Clean - Bellows in the product flow
In the PRO-Clean, the bellows are surrounded by fluid, which allows them to self-clean. Ideal for applications where deposits must be prevented.
PROVALVE series
- P43.xxx.BQ
Range of application
- Pressure: up to PN 40 / ASME Class 150–300
- Nominal diameters: DN 15–300 / NPS 1/2"–12"
PRO-Tect - Protected bellows in the bonnet
In the PRO-Tect, the bellows is protected inside the bonnet, away from the product flow, which makes it particularly durable.
PROVALVE series
- P43.xxx.BR
Range of application
- Pressure: up to PN 325 / ASME Class 150–1500
- Nominal diameters: DN 15–500 / NPS 1/2"–20"
Common Features of PRO-Clean & PRO-Tect
- Straight-seated,Y-type or angle design
- Two-piece spindle with coupling protects the bellows from torque
- Multi-stage safety sealing system: multi-walled bellows, packing, metal back seal, position indicator
- Stainless steel cam-profile gasket with ultra-pure graphite or PTFE layer
- Robustly designed disc with conical sealing edge (hardened chrome steel or Stellite), reinforced body seat
2. PRO-Tel - Bellows Sealed Gate Valve
The PRO-Tel also features a protected bellows. Starting at DN 100 / NPS 4", a telescopic bellows is used, in which the stroke is distributed across two bellows. This reduces the installation height and significantly extends the service life.

In systems where shutdown is not possible or permitted, change-over valves ensure a safe and rapid line change. This allows for safe switching between two product lines or safety-critical systems.
Upstream change-over valves offer a reliable solution, particularly for safety valves. For highly hazardous media, the use of change-over-safety valve combinations is recommended so that vented media can be safely collected and returned.
Change-over valves can be supplied either with a flushed bellows or with a stuffing box.

PROVALVE manufactures shut-off valves for cryogenic applications in accordance with DIN EN ISO 28921 and BS 6364. These valves feature an extended valve body, which allows for an insulating vapor barrier and thus ensures reliable operation at very low temperatures.
For cold-box applications, we offer valves with an even longer bonnet. This design allows for the replacement of all internal parts without removing the insulation. Upon request, the valves are also available with a bellows and safety gland.
Our gate valves with bolted bonnet are always manufactured in a cryogenic version with a relief bore in the wedge. Special packings and cover gaskets reliably minimize leakage.
-
PROVALVE manufactures check valves made of forged steel for high-pressure applications, as well as cast steel. Both versions are available with either a bolted cover or pressure seal cover, depending on requirements.
A key component is the bearing arrangement for the moving parts. It must remain smooth-running over the long term, even after many hours of operation. Our forged steel versions feature a separately mounted retaining ring for this purpose: The robust shaft can rotate freely within the retaining ring and the valve lever without being routed outward. This eliminates weak points and enhances safety.
In horizontal piping, the bearing position of the disc ensures that the check valve closes easily when depressurized.
-
These valves reliably protect preheaters in the event of damage to their high-pressure pipes. In such a case, the feedwater supply must be stopped immediately and diverted via a bypass line. Our valves are self-actuated and can switch over in just 2-3 seconds.
This prevents damage to the preheater’s steam jacket—which is designed for lower pressures—while ensuring that the boiler’s feedwater supply remains uninterrupted.
The valve body are made of high-quality forged steel and are designed for extreme loads.

In the production of urea, ammonia and carbon dioxide react at high temperatures. This process produces carbamate, a substance with highly corrosive properties that can rapidly attack metal surfaces. Leaks would not only endanger plant components but also pose serious environmental and safety risks.
PROVALVE manufactures specialized globe, check, and control valves for this purpose from highly corrosion-resistant special materials such as F316L mod. UG, 1.4466, or UNS S32906. They meet the quality requirements of leading licensors such as TOYO, CASALE, SAIPEM, or STAMICARBON.
We use exclusively high-quality forgings and bar stock manufactured in Europe. Typical connections include threaded flanges with lens gaskets or welded ends. All parts in contact with the medium undergo rigorous testing, including the Huey test, Strauss test, and verification of ferrite content below 0.6 percent.
-
The first high-pressure PE plants in the GDR were built in the late 1960s without Western licenses. MAW developed its own valves for this purpose, which we later repaired and eventually manufactured ourselves. Our current valves for LDPE and EVA applications are based on this experience.
All valve bodies undergo an autofrettage treatment to increase their strength and service life under extreme high pressure. Depending on the application, the valves can be equipped with a handwheel, gear drive, electric drive, or hydraulic drive.
-
Melamine is a nitrogen-rich raw material used in melamine resins, which are employed in adhesives and thermosets. These processes require valves that can reliably withstand high chemical stresses.
PROVALVE manufactures special valves for this purpose from corrosion-resistant specialty materials such as Alloy 59, 1.4466, and UNS S32906—designed for demanding melamine applications.
